Central Coast moves to Water Wise Rules
14 May 2012 

After more than a decade Central Coast Water Restrictions have been lifted today and the region is now guided by permanent Water Wise Rules.  

In April, Gosford City and Wyong Shire Councils endorsed the Central Coast Water Corporation Board’s recommendation to move to Water Wise Rules when Mangrove Creek Dam storage level exceeded 44 percent. The dam storage has today reached 44.6 percent.

Level 1 Water Restrictions for the Central Coast
27 April 2012 

Central Coast residents will have more freedom with their water use after Gosford City and Wyong Shire Councils this week voted to lower water restrictions to Level 1.

Both Councils have endorsed the Central Coast Water Corporation Board’s recommendation to ease water restrictions to Level 1 from Monday 30 April.

Councils tell Central Coast water story on World Water Day 2012

As communities around the world celebrate World Water Day on Thursday 22 March 2012, Gosford City and Wyong Shire Councils are asking residents to reflect on the great story the Central Coast has to tell about protecting and sustaining our precious water resouces.

The Councils have launched 'The Water Story' DVD as part of World Water Day, to provide residents with a way of understanding where our water comes from, and the investments that have been made to improve and protect our water supply system.

We gather our water from many different sources and you also have a part to play at home.

Put together:

  • three dams
  • a series of pipelines from rivers, creeks and dams
  • a pipeline from the Hunter
  • groundwater bore fields
  • three water treatment plants
  • using water wisely in your home
  • future water supply options such as recycling or desalination
